Murchison happily bought the song for $2,500. Breeskin wanted revenge against Marshall so he approached Murchison’s attorney to sell the legal rights to the song to Murchison just before the expansion vote in 1959. A deal was almost struck, but George Preston Marshall called for a change in the terms after already committing to an agreement.
